Destaco 860 pneumatic action clamp is used for positioning & holding products securely in place to ensure error-free operation. This toggle clamp is ideal for quick clamping applications in the automotive and food & packaging industries. It comes equipped with an air-actuated cylinder with an input port for connecting to the compressed air source and then utilising the compressed air to apply clamping pressure for holding the workpiece in place. This pneumatic power clamp is integrated with an over centre toggle action linkage combined with a pneumatic cylinder to provide a device that is easily adaptable for a wide variety of applications. It comes sensor ready for both round and T-slot style sensors and features an in-built flow restriction system. This eliminates the need for external flow controls, thus ensuring smooth clamping. Destaco 860 pneumatic action clamp has a non-pivoting cylinder that can easily be hard-piped into fixtures. It comes in an enclosed design for MIG & spot welding in dirty environments, is completely self-contained & requires just a single pressure source. This pneumatic toggle clamp is integrated with hardened bushings & pins at all pivot points for long service life. It is capable of withstanding loads up to 3000 lb and comes integrated with a clamping arm having an opening angle of 180 degrees for keeping workpieces safely in place. Destaco 860 pneumatic action clamp can be operated at temperatures ranging between -14 & 194 degrees F.
Destaco 860 pneumatic action clamp is used for clamping, positioning & holding metal sheets & parts, in fixtures and handling systems in the consumer goods, aerospace, automotive and food & packaging industries.
A. Pneumatic toggle clamps feature the same basic design and operation as manual hold down or straight line toggle clamps, but are operated pneumatically. They are completely self contained and require only a pressure source hook up.
A. A coupling grease like Mobil XTC is perfect for use with Destaco mechanical clamps, while the Magnalube G grease should be used with pneumatic cylinder seals.
A. The clamp's holding capacity or holding force signifies the capability of a clamp to hold down mechanical equipment or sheet metal during automotive part assembling or similar manufacturing processes.
A. Clamping force is the amount of force actually applied to the workpiece by closing & locking the clamp. It is generally less than the stated holding capacity. The actual clamping force depends on various factors including spindle position (clamping arm length), cylinder area, cylinder bore and available air pressure. In most cases, the clamping force is approximately 2 to 3 times the force exerted by a pneumatic cylinder.
A. Yes, Destaco offers inductive sensors designed in accordance with IP65 standards to provide protection from powerful hydraulic jets, dust & heavy rain.
A. The most important consideration is the size of the component that you're clamping, the amount of space available in the production process and what kind of access you need to have around the clamp. If you are clamping a very small component and you need to hold it close to the clamp, clearly a smaller clamp will be required. Secondly, one needs to consider the distance between the pivot point and the length of the clamp arm and the weight of the tooling. In addition, the user must also consider the amount of clamp force or the holding force you need the clamp to apply.
A. Destaco power clamps are specially designed for use in automated manufacturing processes where the requirement is to accurately clamp components repeatedly, quickly and accurately. They are suited for applications where there is limited or no access to manually activate the clamp either because of a space limitation (hence, manual access isn't possible) or because the clamp is located remotely.
