Destaco 602-SS straight line action clamp is used in the aerospace, automotive, metalworking and food & packaging industries for applying clamping force sideways rather than from the top (securing the workpiece in limited space). This straight line action clamp comes equipped with a lever handle that engages the plunger to press against the workpiece & hold it in place while fixturing, welding, testing, plastic injection molding, tensioning devices, CNC machining, assembling and staking or light pressworking of industrial equipment. Besides locking in the extended position, this straight line action clamp also allows handle rotation and falling below the mounting plane to be locked in the retracted position. This straight line clamp features a low profile & compact design for installation in areas with limited space and comes integrated with an ergonomic handle, designed specifically to reduce hand fatigue while working. Destaco 602-SS straight line action clamp is equipped with an easy to operate push / pull handle that moves the plunger in & out along its axis. This straight line action clamp further features a flanged base with threaded holes for quick & secure mounting of the clamps to a worktable or flat surface. This straight line action clamp unit is made of stainless steel for resisting corrosion on exposed surfaces and is capable of holding loads up to 200 lb.

A. A straight line clamp includes a sliding plunger to provide straight line clamping action. The plunger can be locked in either pulling or pushing direction for holding workpieces.
A. Destaco clamps have steel or stainless steel construction and are available in variants having flange, narrow flange, straight or solid base mounting style for easy installation. These clamps are available in varying holding capacities to denote the maximum external force that a clamp in the locked position can resist safely, without getting deformed permanently. Straight line action clamps also feature imperial or metric plunger threads for secure installation. The customers should choose clamps on the basis of distance travelled by plungers in their extended position.
A. A coupling grease like Mobil XTC should be used when dealing with Destaco mechanical clamps, while the Magnalube G grease is great for use with pneumatic cylinder seals.
A. The clamp's holding capacity or holding force is basically the capability of a clamp for holding down mechanical equipment or sheet metal while assembling automotive parts or during similar manufacturing processes.
A. Clamping force is the amount of force actually applied to the workpiece by closing & locking the clamp. It is normally less than the stated holding capacity. The actual clamping force depends on various factors, including cylinder bore, cylinder area, spindle position (clamping arm length) and available air pressure. In most cases, the clamping force is approximately 2 to 3 times the force exerted by a pneumatic cylinder.
