Destaco 5310-BR horizontal hold down clamp is suitable for holding down workpieces against flat surfaces in manufacturing facilities. It features a low profile design that minimises the space requirement for clamp installation & usage, thereby enabling ease of operation in confined spaces. It features hardened steel bushings & pivot pins for ensuring durability. This hold down action clamp is ideal for applications that require working on the same workpiece repeatedly. It comes with Toggle Lock Plus feature that maintains over centre locking condition throughout the clamping operation. This toggle clamp features a solid bar style clamping arm that keeps the workpiece stationary throughout the operation & prevents it from loosening / slipping. It features a solid style base that can be permanently welded onto flat metallic surfaces. It has carbon steel construction & black oxide finish for ensuring strength and preventing bending / breaking under heavy loads. However, this clamp is not recommended for machining, woodworking, checking closures and food & packaging applications. Destaco 5310 Series clampsare also available in flanged base U bar variant on Raptor Supplies.
Destaco 5310-BR horizontal hold down clamp is designed for welding, checking fixtures & assembly operations in various industrial facilities. However, this clamp is not recommended for machining, woodworking, checking closures and food & packaging applications.
A. Destaco horizontal hold down clamps are designed for keeping a workpiece stationary against a flat surface / workbench, ideal for various industrial applications like metalworking and woodworking.
A. Destaco also offers a wide range of low profile horizontal hold down clamps in a range of configurations & styles, such as J hook style clamping arm, low profile T style handle & Toggle Lock Plus enabled clamps.
A. The holding force or the holding capacity depicts the clamp's capability to hold down sheet metal or an equipment on assembly lines or during other manufacturing processes.
A. These horizontal hold down clamps feature a solid style clamping bar that is manually operated using a handle / lever. This handle movement pushes the clamping bar against the workpiece and prevents it from moving mid operation, thereby ensuring secure clamping.
A. Clamping force is the amount of force actually applied to a workpiece by closing & locking the clamp. It is normally less than the stated holding capacity. The actual clamping force depends on various factors, such as cylinder bore, cylinder area, spindle position (clamping arm length) and available air pressure. In most cases, the clamping force is approximately 2 to 3 times the force exerted by a pneumatic cylinder.
A. For ensuring smooth operation & durability of mechanical clamps, it is recommended to use a coupling grease like Mobil XTC.
A. The red coloured handles alert the user about the location of the operating handle and when he should grab it. The red colour has no additional advantage to the working of the clamps.
A. Yes, in addition to this solid base variant, Destaco also offers flanged base (Destaco 5310 & Destaco 5310-R) horizontal clamps.
A. The difference lies in the orientation of the handle when the clamp is in the locked position. A vertical clamp handle is oriented perpendicular to the base when in locked position, while in the case of a horizontal toggle clamp, it is oriented parallel to the base.
