Product Details:

Wilkerson R21-04-000 air regulator is used to control and regulate the pressure of compressed air in pneumatic systems. It is an essential component in the manufacturing, automation and construction industries.

Working Mechanism:

  • Locate the pressure-adjusting dial on the regulator.
  • Before making any adjustments, ensure that the air supply to the regulator is turned off to prevent accidental pressure changes.
  • Turn the dial counterclockwise to decrease the set pressure or clockwise to increase the set pressure.
  • Once the desired downstream pressure is set, turn on the air supply to the regulator.
  • Observe the downstream pressure gauge or indicator and compare it to the desired set pressure.
  • If the downstream pressure is higher than the set pressure, turn the adjustment mechanism clockwise in small increments until the desired pressure is achieved.
  • If the downstream pressure is lower than the set pressure, turn the adjustment mechanism counterclockwise in small increments until the desired pressure is achieved.

Features:

  • Wilkerson R21-04-000 Dial-Air regulator has a zinc body for corrosion resistance and a nitrile seal for leakproof connections.
  • It features a balanced valve design to equalise pressures between the inlet and outlet.
  • This air regulator has a non-rising pressure dial to adjust flow between 5 to 160 PSIG.

Frequently Asked Questions:

Q. How do I maintain and troubleshoot an air regulator?

A. Regular maintenance involves checking for air leaks, inspecting & cleaning the regulator components and ensuring proper lubrication if required. Troubleshooting includes addressing pressure inconsistencies, excessive vibration or irregular operation.

Q. What is the difference between a relieving and a non-relieving air regulator?

A. A relieving air regulator releases excess pressure downstream when the set pressure is exceeded. It includes a relief valve or vents to relieve the excess pressure. On the other hand, a non-relieving air regulator does not release excess pressure and maintains a closed system when the set pressure is exceeded.

Q. How do I ensure accurate pressure readings from an air regulator?

A. To ensure accurate pressure readings, install the pressure gauge or pressure sensor at a location downstream of the air regulator. Placing it before any restrictions, filters or other components can provide a more accurate reading of the regulated pressure.

Q. What is the difference between a single-stage and a two-stage air regulator?

A. A single-stage air regulator operates with a single pressure reduction stage, directly reducing the inlet pressure to the desired set pressure. In contrast, a two-stage air regulator has two pressure reduction stages. The first stage reduces the pressure to an intermediate level and the second stage further reduces it to the final desired set pressure. Two-stage regulators are used when precise control and regulation of the downstream pressure are required.
