Frequently Asked Questions:

Q. How do I ensure improved cooling and coolant delivery?

A. It can be obtained when larger droplets are utilised. Avoid using overly dry mist.

Q. How to install Trico Li'l Mister spray mist coolant system?

A.

  • Install the reservoir at or slightly below the work level.
  • Drill two 8-inch holes and thread with a 5/16-18 tap.
  • Install the unit using slotted head screws (included).
  • Use a mounting clip to install nozzles close to the work area. The nozzles should be about one inch away from the cutting tool.
  • Fill the reservoir with a water-soluble coolant (Tri-Cool coolant recommended) mixture after removing the filler cap.
  • Connect a source of clean & dry shop air to the 1/4 inch FNPT fitting on the unit's side.

Q. How do I clean the system?

A.

  • If the line or nozzle becomes clogged, force air through the coolant line and back into the reservoir with your thumb and forefinger to clear the system. Do this at the end of each production run.
  • If washing the unit is necessary, use warm & soapy water or a solvent that will not harm the Buna-N O-rings, polyethylene reservoir or acrylic sight tube.

Q. How do I replace the old nozzle on the system & install a new one?

A.

  • Loosen the knurled nut until the nozzle guard can be slid.
  • Disconnect the nozzle body from the plastic line using a twisting / pulling motion.
  • Capture the inner line and hold it while completely removing the old nozzle.
  • There are two brass tubes protruding from the nozzle end. Place the small diameter inner tube on the longer tube out of the two.
  • Cover the nozzle body with the outer plastic tube.
  • Slide the knurled nut onto the plastic outer tube and snugly tighten it.
  • The nozzle is now operational.
