REED INSTRUMENTS R9100 Ultrasonic Leak Detector, 40kHz Signal

REED Instruments R9100 ultrasonic leak detector is ideal for locating leaks generated due to pressure, vacuum, water, gas or air in refrigeration & air conditioning systems, compressed air systems, engine seals, windshields, windows and doors. This ultrasonic water leak detector comes with a transmitter generating a 40 kHz signal for producing easily recognisable audible sounds on detecting a leak to evaluate an individual component's condition. It has an earphone jack to connect to headphones (included) for easy detection in loud environments.

Working Mechanism:

• Turn on the transmitter unit & place it inside the compartment / equipment under test. Close the compartment.
• Plug the headphones into the detector unit's headphone jack. Press & hold its TEST button. A ticking tone indicates the activation of the detector.
• Adjusting the headphone's volume & the detector's sensitivity to a desired / suitable level.
• Scan the outside surface of the compartment around the seals of the suspected leak area by continuously holding the TEST button on the detector.
• The ultrasonic sound sent by the transmitter escapes the compartment through any orifice or faulty seal. After the detector senses the leaking ultrasonic sound, the 'ticking tone' increases in frequency & the 'LEAK' LED light turns on. The closer the detector is towards the leak, the more the frequency of the 'ticking tone'.
• After the leak is located, repair it and retest using the detector to make sure that there is no longer a leak.
