PLAST-O-MATIC GGTS030-PF Gauge Guard With Stainless Steel Gauge, PVDF

Plast-O-Matic GGTS030-PF gauge guard is designed to separate and safeguard pressure or vacuum instruments used on extremely pure or highly corrosive fluid lines. It can be used with liquids like sulphuric acid, caustics, demineralised water and hydrochloric acid.

Working Mechanism:

• An appropriate fill liquid must be solidly filled inside a Plast-O-Matic gauge guard before it can be assembled with a pressure or vacuum instrument.
• An adaptable barrier, called the gauge guard diaphragm, keeps the process fluid from getting inside the instrument.
• The diaphragm flexes against the fill liquid in response to pressure on the process side, transferring that pressure to the instrument.
• The diaphragm flexes in the opposite way in response to the vacuum, generating an equal vacuum in the fill liquid that activates the instrument.

Q. What are the important points to remember while installing a gauge?

A. Any threaded gauge, transducer or a pressure switch can be inserted. However, before assembly, the user-supplied device should be examined for O-ring seal leaks. The gauge will seal on the O-ring if you don't apply a thread sealant or tape on it.

Q. How to install this Plast-O-Matic gauge guard?

A.

• Put the O-ring within the guard. Fill the guard with liquid until it is about halfway up the threads.
• To get rid of bubbles, tilt and gently tap the guard. (A little air that has been trapped is okay.)
• Use as much gas as you can in the gauge. To remove the bubbles, use a tiny wire or needle.
• The gauge should be finger-tightened. Once the gauge bottoms out on the stainless steel insert, formed into the guard body, O-rings should be compressed. Avoid overtightening and 10 to 30 inch pounds (1 to 3 Nm) of torque is sufficient. Tighten the process side to position the gauge so that it faces "Forward."
• Remove the gauge guard from the process side and drain the process fluid if the gauge does not read zero after following the gauge installation method. Hand tighten the gauge to create the seal while applying pressure to the diaphragm.
• Follow the same steps and somewhat forcefully press the diaphragm if the gauge still does not register zero. When the gauge reaches zero, reconnect to the process line.
• Remove any leftovers, then add alcohol to the liquid.
