Humboldt H-1200 universal laboratory penetrometer accurately measures the penetration of cement, bituminous materials, petrolatum and waxes in food, cosmetics & pharmaceutical applications.

Working Mechanism:

• Add required weights to the plunger head while keeping in mind the weight of the plunger, cone & needle.
• Adjust the head's height (by releasing the lock screw) using the control sleeve on the main post for bringing the penetrating instrument's point in contact with the sample's surface. Make sure that users relock the head using the lock screw after the height adjustment.
• Release the test plunger by depressing & holding the clutch trigger (in its released position) for descending the penetrating instrument into the sample. Hold the clutch trigger during the test.
• Push down the unit's gear rack knob to its maximum limit for reading the penetration depth.
• For readings with more than 40 mm penetration, the gauge pointer completes more than one revolution.
• Return the pointer to zero after every use.

Features:

• Humboldt H-1200 universal penetrometer is equipped with a 5-inch diameter dial indicator having 400 divisions of 0.1 mm for a maximum of 40 mm penetration in one revolution of the dial.
• This dial indicator can be preset to zero to eliminate errors.
• The universal penetrometer also comes with a 47.5 g plunger having a 3.2 mm hole and two loading weights of 50 g & 100 g.

Q. How to install this universal penetrometer?

A.

• Level the unit carefully using levelling screws present on the base and maintain proper alignment using a spirit level.
• Attach a suitable penetrating needle / cone into the unit's chuck.
• Set the zero reference. Use the zero setting screw if required. Release the clutch trigger by holding the gear rack knob & pulling it up. Raise the test plunger to its maximum height after the trigger is released.
