Straight line action clampsare ideal for holding objects securely by moving the clamp plungers along their axis using their push / pull clamping action. These clamps can be locked in only extended position for use as push clamps or in both extended and retracted positions for use as both pull and push clamps. They are used for testing, welding, fixturing, tensioning, CNC machining & plastic injection moulding applications that require frequent clamping and declamping operations. Destaco 640 straight line action clamp of Destaco 640 Series feature a lever handle to move the round sliding plunger that locks in both pulling and pushing direction for holding workpieces. The clamp is equipped with an easy to operate handle that rotates backwards and lock the clamp in the retracted position. It has the longest plunger stroke of Destaco's straight line action clamps and a flanged base for heavy-duty clamping of workpieces & easy mounting. This clamp is made of steel to provide strength & durability and prevent wear & tear caused due to abrasive environments. It has an imperial internal threaded plunger for quick fastening of the imperial threaded spindle to hold workpieces.
Raptor Supplies also offers similar manual clamps having metric internal threaded plungers for accommodating metric threaded spindle assemblies. We also supply these straight line action clamps with Toggle Lock Plus mechanism to prevent accidental opening of the clamp.
A. Raptor Supplies offers similar manual clamps having M12 (metric) threaded plunger (640-M) to accommodate metric threaded spindle assemblies for holding workpieces. We also supply a similar clamp with the Toggle Lock Plus feature (640-R) to prevent accidental opening of the clamp. For more variants related to Destaco 640 clamp, refer to the Destaco 640 Series Clamps page on our website.
A. Straight line action clamps are operated manually to rotate their levers or handles for pushing clamp plungers against the workpieces and holding them securely.
A. Selected Destaco manual clamps have the Toggle Lock Plus feature to act as a secondary locking system for the clamps to make them stay in the over-centre toggle lock condition. This mechanism is useful when fixtures of the clamp are in motion, in a vibratory environment or are inverted. It provides an extra level of safety for the user and the workpiece.
A. The term "holding force or capacity" indicates the ideal strength of the clamp for holding down the equipment, workpiece or sheet metal on the assembly line or during other industrial applications. The holding force is measured during the clamp manufacturing process, so does not provide a practical measure of the capacity of the clamp. Clamping force or exerting force denotes the actual force exerted by the clamp onto the workpieces for holding them. The clamping force is generally lesser than the holding capacity due to several factors like the position of spindles in the clamping bars and the opposing force applied on the clamp.
