Destaco 630-MR straight line action clamp can be locked with the plunger in a fully extended or fully retracted position. It is suitable for pull / push clamping applications. This clamp applies clamping force sideways rather than from the top, to secure the workpiece in applications having space constraints. It can accommodate load ratings up to 2500 lb. It is equipped with a lever handle that engages the plunger to press against the workpiece & hold it in place while tensioning devices, fixturing, welding, testing, plastic injection molding, CNC machining, assembling and staking or light press working of industrial equipment. Besides locking in the extracted position, the unit allows handle rotation and the handle falling below the mounting plate to be locked in the retracted position. Destaco 630-MR straight line action clamp comes with a flanged base with threaded holes that help in quick & secure mounting of the clamp to a worktable / flat surface. This unit is made of steel for structural rigidity and resisting corrosion on exposed surfaces and comes equipped with round plungers having M10 thread size for quick & secure fastening. When used with a spindle, Destaco 630-MR straight line action clamp provides high performance automation, work holding and containment solutions as well as optimum clamping force.
This Destaco 630-MR straight line action clamp is designed for applications like assembling automotive parts, fixture checking, welding fixtures and tensioning devices in the food & packaging, aerospace and automotive industries.
A. Yes, Destaco 630-R is a straight line clamp having a size of 3/8-16 inches.
A. A straight line clamp incorporates a sliding plunger to provide straight line clamping action. The plunger can be locked either in pulling or pushing direction for holding workpieces.
A. The clamp's holding capacity or holding force represents the capability of a clamp for holding down mechanical equipment or sheet metal while assembling automotive parts or during a manufacturing process.
A. A coupling grease like Mobil XTC should be used when dealing with Destaco mechanical clamps, while the Magnalube G grease is great for use with pneumatic cylinder seals.
A. Clamping force is the amount of force actually applied to the workpiece by closing & locking the clamp. It is normally less than the stated holding capacity. The actual clamping force depends on various factors, including cylinder bore, cylinder area, spindle position (clamping arm length) and available air pressure. In most cases, the clamping force is approximately 2 to 3 times the force exerted by a pneumatic cylinder.
A. There is no such significance of the colour of the clamp's handle, as it only represents a recognisable area. This helps operators in finding the handle quickly & easily.
A. Destaco has incoporated the Toggle Lock Plus feature in many manual clamps to act as a secondary locking mechanism to ensure that the clamps stay in the over-centre toggle lock condition. This mechanism is useful when fixtures of the clamp are inverted, in motion or in a vibratory environment. It provides an extra level of safety for the operator and the workpiece.
