Destaco 607 straight line action clamp is ideal for holding a workpiece in place by applying force from the side. This clamp is suitable for various push / pull clamping tasks including welding, tensioning devices, assembly & testing operations. Destaco straight line action clamp's round plunger securely holds the workpiece in position for preventing slippage mid operation. It features low profile design for enabling ease of installation in confined spaces. Destaco straight line action clamp's handle can also be easily adjusted which allows it to rotate and in turn fall below the mounting plane, thereby locking it in the retracted position. It features a large plastic grip that ensures user comfort for prolonged usage. This clamp features steel construction that delivers high impact strength. Destaco straight line clamp comes with a flanged style base for ease of installation on flat surfaces / workbenches. For applications that require the clamp to resist high torsional loads, 607 Seriesstraight line action clamps with square style plunger are also available.
A. Yes, apart from Destaco 607 round plunger clamp, models having square style plunger (Destaco 607-SQ & Destaco 607-SQM) are also available.
A. Some straight line action clamps, such as Destaco 603-MSS clamp, feature a threaded plunger that is manually fastened using a plastic grip handle. These clamps feature a two way locking handle (retracted or extended position) for enabling the user to use this clamp either in push or pull type configuration.
A. Unlike straight line action pneumatic clamps, regular manual style clamps from Destaco feature separate handle for engaging the plunger to hold the workpiece in place.
A. Destaco straight line action clamps are manual operated push / pull style clamps that are used for various applications including welding, woodworking, tensioning devices and various assembly & testing operations.
A. Clamping force is the amount of force actually applied to a workpiece by closing & locking the clamp. It is normally less than the stated holding capacity. The actual clamping force depends on various factors, including cylinder bore, cylinder area, spindle position (clamping arm length) and available air pressure. In most cases, the clamping force is approximately 2 to 3 times the force exerted by a pneumatic cylinder.
A. The holding capacity or the holding force depicts the clamp's capability to hold down the equipment or sheet metal on the assembly line or during any other manufacturing process.
A. For ensuring smooth operation & durability of mechanical clamps, it is recommended to use a coupling grease like Mobil XTC.
A. The red coloured handles alert the user about the location of the operating handle and when he should grab it. The red colour has no additional advantage to the working of the clamps.
A. Yes, stainless steel and carbon steel clamps from Destaco withstand & minimise wear against harsh industrial environments. For applications that require clamping in outdoor conditions, stainless steel clamps are also available.
