Destaco 205-SL horizontal hold down clamp is suitable for holding down workpieces against flat surfaces in manufacturing and woodworking facilities. It features a low profile design that minimises space requirement for clamp installation & usage, thereby enabling ease of operation in confined spaces. This hold down action clamp is ideal for applications that require working on the same workpiece repeatedly. This toggle clamp features an adjustable neoprene spindle that keeps the workpiece stationary throughout the operation & prevents it from loosening / slipping. It has carbon steel construction & zinc plated finish for ensuring strength and preventing bending / breaking under heavy loads. Destaco horizontal hold down clamp comes with plastic grip handle for minimising user fatigue over prolonged usage. However, this clamp is not recommended for machining & welding applications. Destaco 205 Series clamps are also available in straight base U bar variants on Raptor Supplies.
Destaco 205-SL horizontal hold down clamp is designed for assembly operations, checking closures & fixtures, woodworking and food & packaging tasks in various industrial facilities.
A. Destaco horizontal hold down clamps are designed for keeping a workpiece stationary against a flat surface / workbench, ideal for various industrial applications like metalworking and woodworking.
A. Some solid bar style clamping arm clamps feature a flat tip bonded neoprene spindle that is manually operated using a handle / lever. This handle movement pushes the spindle against the workpiece and prevents it from moving mid operation, thereby ensuring secure clamping.
A. The holding force or the holding capacity depicts the clamp's capability to hold down sheet metal or equipment on assembly lines or during manufacturing processes.
A. Destaco also offers a wide range of low profile horizontal hold down clamps in a range of configurations & styles, such as J hook style clamping arm, low profile T style handle & Toggle Lock Plus enabled clamps.
A. Clamping force is the amount of force actually applied to a workpiece by closing & locking the clamp. It is normally less than the stated holding capacity. The actual clamping force depends on various factors, including cylinder bore, cylinder area, spindle position (clamping arm length) and available air pressure. In most cases, the clamping force is approximately 2 to 3 times the force exerted by a pneumatic cylinder.
A. For ensuring smooth operation & durability of mechanical clamps, it is recommended to use a coupling grease like Mobil XTC.
A. The red coloured handles on Destaco clamps just denote a recognisable area. This is done to alert the worker / operator where the operating handle is and where he should grab it. Its colour has no additional significance to the working of the clamp.
A. Yes, in addition to this flanged base variant, Destaco also offers straight base (Destaco 205-UB & Destaco 205-SB) horizontal clamps.
A. The difference lies in the orientation of the handle when the clamp is in the locked position. A vertical clamp handle is oriented perpendicular to the base when in locked position, while in the case of a horizontal toggle clamp, it is oriented parallel to the base.
