Element, Air Filter

Wilkerson filter elements remove solid particulate contamination from the compressed air supply and provide clean air with minimal loss in pressure. The basic function of these Wilkerson filter elements is to clean the air that disperses through the heating and cooling systems. These filters trap and hold particulates and contaminants that could affect user's health and comfort. The process of filtration typically happens when expended air is brought back into the HVAC equipment to be conditioned and circulated again. The air is pushed through the filter, and the material discharges particulates & other contaminants from the air. These ANSI certified, heavy-duty filter elements maintain their shape under high pressure of compressed air and are rated 5 microns for filtration. They are used with Wilkerson's F30 & F35 filters and are available in miniature & pneumatic variants on Raptor Supplies.

Uses

Wilkerson filter elements are used to remove airborne particles, pollutants and microorganisms hazardous to health and the ecosystem. These air filters have applications in many offices, laboratories, commercial spaces, clinics, and hospitals.

Working Mechanism

Wilkerson filter elements operate by drawing contaminated air to pass through their filter medium with fine openings. The unwanted particles bigger than those openings are trapped inside the filter medium and are separated from the passing air. The air escapes the filter with significantly decreased particle content. These Wilkerson air filters improve their filtration efficiency as particles form a layer in the upstream side of the filter media, separating other particles. The filter medium is changed regularly (or cleaned) to stop blinding or clogging, preventing restricted airflow. The air leaves the filter with significantly reduced particle content. Air filters increase their filtration efficiency as particles form a layer in the upstream side of the filter media which aids in screening other particles.

Features

  • Wilkerson filter elements are used to remove oil, mist and particulates from compressed air lines.
  • These filter elements differ by type and employ either synthetic or organic filtration media.
  • Wilkerson air filters enhance filtration efficiency as particles form a layer in the upstream side of the filter media which helps in separating other particles.
  • These filter mediums should be changed regularly to stop blinding or clogging, preventing limiting airflow.

Compatible Accessories

  • Wilkerson filter elements are compatible with general-purpose filters having a positive bayonet bowl latch & barbed manual drain attachment with pipe-away. These filters feature heavy-duty, lightweight construction having superior water removal capability.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are air filter elements?

The air filter element is a 'sieve' tactically positioned at the air inlet port that sucks atmospheric air to be used for combustion in the engine. It is manufactured of polyester, paper or absorbent material that screens the micro dust particles and other foreign residues.

Which type of air filters are generally recommended for use?

High-efficiency particulate air (HEPA) filters are advised by the U.S. Department of Health. These filters can remove at least 99.97% of airborne pollutants and allergens, including mould spores and dust as minute as 0.3 microns.

Which material is best for air filters?

Spun fibreglass is a reliable and affordable resource for filtering air and trapping contaminants. Fibreglass is suitable for trapping extensive contaminants like dust and pet dander, and it maintains exceptional airflow.

What is the use of a filter element?

The filter elements remove contaminants from liquids. They are employed in water treatment systems and fluid processing applications. Filter elements typically vary by type and use either synthetic or organic filtration media.
