Working Mechanism

  • On detecting a fault, these 3-pole circuit breakers interrupt the flow of electricity to the circuit and protect the equipment.
  • After resolving the fault, the user can reset this circuit breaker by switching the handle to the off & then on position.
  • Electronic trip units in these breakers can be used for monitoring & protection of the units.

Features

  • The handle, with ON & OFF positions of these Eaton E2LEM type mining electronic moulded case circuit breakers, offer easy identification of the breaker's status.
  • These magnetic only or thermal-magnetic circuit breakers have a built-in test port for electronic field testing and a push-to-trip button to check the tripping function during scheduled maintenance.
  • They have a current rating of 400 / 600A & a voltage rating of 1000Y (3-phase) / 577VAC & 250VDC.
  • These Eaton E2LEM type mining electronic complete moulded case circuit breakers have a trip rating ranging from 1000 to 4000A and 500 to 2500A.

Compatible Accessories

  • Shunt Trips: These devices mechanically trip the breakers remotely by applying power (from an external source) to their shunt trip terminals.
  • Auxiliary Switches: They connect to these circuit breakers to remotely indicate whether their contacts are open or closed.
  • Alarms: They indicate the tripping of the selected breaker during remote operation.

Standards and Approvals

  • UL
  • IEC
  • CSA

Frequently Asked Questions

What are the interrupt ratings of these Eaton E2LEM type mining electronic moulded case circuit breakers?

  • 65kAIC at 240VAC
  • 35kAIC at 480VAC
  • 25kAIC at 600VAC
  • 22kAIC at 250VDC
  • 10kAIC at 1000Y / 577VAC

What is the difference between a thermal-magnetic type and a magnetic-only circuit breaker?

The thermal-magnetic type breaker has both thermal and magnetic elements for overload trip & inrush / instantaneous trip, respectively. The magnetic-only breakers do not have thermal protection and are mainly used for motor protection.

What are the advantages of a moulded case in these Eaton E2LEM type mining electronic moulded case circuit breakers?

These mining circuit breakers have a moulded case design with an L-frame to house the trip unit & all current-carrying devices inside their frame.
