CA Series Complete Molded Case Circuit Breakers

Eaton CA Series circuit breakers are designed for protection from short circuits and overcurrents. These units feature a thermal magnetic trip unit to provide both instantaneous and long-time current limiting protection. They are equipped with bolt-on mounting for smooth installation & repair and include terminals on load end for passing power to other devices along the circuit. The CA frame design allows an interrupting rating of 10kA @ 240V and a maximum current rating of 225A, ideal for reverse feed applications. These UL listed circuit breakers are available in 2 and 3 pole configurations on Raptor Supplies.

Working Mechanism

  • Their trip mechanism detects when the current flowing through the circuit exceeds the rated capacity of the breaker.
  • During overcurrents, the contact mechanism opens and breaks the electrical connection.
  • Thus, the flow of electricity is interrupted, protecting the equipment and people from potential hazards.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I reset a complete moulded circuit breaker?

Yes, once the issue that caused the circuit breaker to trip is resolved, users can reset the circuit breaker by flipping the switch or pressing the reset button.

How do I select the right amperage rating for my complete moulded circuit breaker?

The amperage rating should be equal to or greater than the maximum current flowing through the circuit.

How do I maintain my Eaton complete moulded circuit breaker?

  • Check the circuit breaker periodically to ensure its proper functioning.
  • Ensure that contacts are clean and free of debris.

How do I know if my circuit breaker needs to be replaced?

If your circuit breaker is frequently tripping or if it shows signs of wear and tear, such as discolouration or melting of the plastic housing, it may be time to replace it.
