9500 Series Pneumatic Swing Clamps

These Destaco 9500 Series pneumatic swing clamps feature a compact design that makes them adaptable for tight spaces. They are equipped with an arm that rotates at the top of the stroke and the clamps offer lock angle repeatability with high accuracy, thereby making clamping on an extremely compact area easily possible. These clamps are used where uninterrupted & rapid access to the clamping station is needed and are ideal for fixturing, testing, assembling and welding applications in the automotive and food & packaging industries. Destaco 9500 Series clamps employ a strong hydraulic clamp mechanism that is intended to provide quick clamping in secondary manufacturing operations on both non metallic and metallic products. These double acting, non locking clamps deliver clamping force in direct proportion to inlet pressures and bore sizes and have shielded piston rod for protection from weld spatter. They also ensure quick swing and clamp movement for improved productivity. Further, they offer field adjustable swing direction from left to right at 90 degrees and are sensor ready for T slot or round style sensors. These pneumatic clamps have a block style body for ease-of-installation and come with rod weld covers to protect the rod throughout a stroke. They are capable of accommodating 6.5 mm x 5 mm T slots and 4 mm round style switches as well as offer field adjustable swing direction (left / right). Additionally, these clamps have been tested for several million cycles and have a robust design to improve the fundamental functions of the clamps & offer consistency. These Destaco 9500 Series pneumatic swing clamps can work under pressure ranging between 45 psig and 120 psig, at temperatures up to 140 degrees Fahrenheit. 9500 Series clamps come with clamp arms for maximum, fatigue less clamping force (maximum total stroke of 20 mm) and are equipped with a pneumatic cylinder having an input port to connect to a source of compressed air. They are compatible with multiple mounting accessories including body mount flanges & replacement seal kits for unobstructed functioning of the clamps.
We also offer Destaco standard pneumatic swing clamp arms. They are replacement clamp arms featuring lightweight aluminium construction for harsh welding environments and a locking tapered connection to provide stable connection during frictional clamping.

Uses

These Destaco 9500 Series pneumatic swing clamps offer a broad combination of features, making them adaptable to applications such as fixturing, testing, assembling and welding applications in the automotive and food & packaging industries.

Features

  • When compressed air is supplied to the clamp, it enters the pneumatic cylinder, creating pressure that pushes a piston.
  • This piston, connected to a linkage system, pivots the clamp arm.
  • As the clamp arm swings downward, it exerts force onto the workpiece, securing it in place.
  • To release the workpiece, the air pressure is released, allowing a spring or gravity to return the clamp arm to its original position, opening the clamp and freeing the workpiece.

Compatible Accessories

  • Destaco 952292, 953092, 954092 & 955092: These replacement seal kits are designed for unobstructed functioning of the brand's 9500 Series pneumatic swing clamps.

Standards and Approvals

  • These Destaco 9500 Series pneumatic swing clamps are ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2015 certified.

Installation

These Destaco 9500 Series pneumatic swing clamps feature a block style body to allow the attachment of multiple mounting accessories. They are equipped with clamp arms featuring tapped holes to accommodate spindle accessories, thereby enabling easy surface mounting.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are Destaco 9500 Series pneumatic swing clamps available in different cylinder bore sizes?

Yes, Destaco 9500 Series pneumatic swing clamps are available in cylinder bore sizes of 22 mm, 32 mm, 40 mm and 50 mm.

What is a pneumatic swing clamp?

Pneumatic swing clamps are designed for clamping of workpieces in the aerospace, automotive and food & packaging industries. They are ideal for applications that require only low clamping force, and keep the clamping area free of straps & clamping components, for unrestricted workpiece loading and unloading.

How to choose between a left hand and a right hand swing clamp?

To determine whether the left or right swing variant is ideal, you need to visualise the arm from above during the clamping stroke. Arms moving clockwise are right hand swing arms and arms moving counter clockwise are left hand swing arms.

What accessories do Destaco pneumatic swing clamps require to function?

Pneumatic swing clamps require spindles (flat tip, swivel foot or hex head), flanges, replacement seal kits, clamping arm adapters and end mounting feet assemblies for proper and smooth functioning.

Does Raptor Supplies offer similar Destaco swing clamps with a higher holding capacity?

Yes, Raptor Supplies offers Destaco 9540-2L, 9540-2R pneumatic swing clamps having holding capacity of 160 lb.

How to maintain these Destaco pneumatic swing clamps?

  • Perform regular visual inspections for wear and damage.
  • Keep clamps clean by removing debris and metal shavings.
  • Apply appropriate lubrication to moving parts.
  • Promptly replace worn or damaged seals.
