Scissor Lift Carts

Dayton scissor lift carts are used for raising & positioning heavy materials to reduce bending & back strain in handling, loading, unloading, assembling, maintenance & inspection tasks. They are equipped with polyurethane casters (2 swivel with brake & 2 rigid) for reduced vibration & controlled mobility. They feature steel frames to provide structural rigidity and resist corrosion on exposed surfaces. With a maximum load capacity of 4000 lb, these carts are available in fixed, tilt & roller platform variants.

Working Mechanism

  • The lift cart's platform is loaded with the cargo. The platform can be modified to different heights and is often built of steel or other robust materials.
  • The operator turns on the hydraulic pump, pumping hydraulic fluid to the lift cylinder to increase the load. The lift cylinder is joined to the scissor lift mechanism and is situated below the platform.
  • The piston inside the lift cylinder extends when the hydraulic fluid enters the cylinder. The scissor lift mechanism then extends, raising the platform and the load to the required height.
  • The operator opens the hydraulic release valve to allow the hydraulic fluid to exit the lift cylinder and return to the hydraulic reservoir, which lowers the load. By retracting the piston and contracting the scissor lift mechanism, the platform and load are lowered to the desired height.

Features

  • Dayton scissor lift carts feature polyurethane casters ( swivels with brake) for reduced vibration & controlled movement during transit.
  • They feature steel frames to provide rigid structural support and resist corrosion, ensuring long equipment life.
  • These scissor lift carts allow a maximum hydraulic lifting height of up to 54 inches and are operated with a foot pump.
  • They have a maximum load capacity of 4000 lb and are available in fixed, tilt & roller platform variants.

Frequently Asked Questions

What type of platforms do these Dayton scissor lift carts offer?

They are available in fixed, roller and tilt platform types.

What safety should we consider when using these scissor lift carts?

  • Never go under the platform when there is weight on the unit.
  • Remove the weight and utilise the safety stop bar before working on the unit.
  • Do not change the pressure relief valve settings.
  • Do not clamp the cylinder in a vice as you may distort the barrel.
  • Always visually monitor the cart and load during use.
  • Apply caster brakes when sliding a load on or off the table.
  • Do not continue to pump if a unit is not rising.
  • Lower load by slowly operating the pressure release mechanism.
  • Lift table is not designed to be water-resistant. Use the lift table in dry locations only.

What do I maintain these Dayton scissor lift carts?

  • Check clevis and pivot points for wear.
  • Check rollers for looseness and wear.
  • Make sure all warning labels are in place and good condition.
  • Check all nuts and bolts for tightness.
  • Clean off dirt and debris.
  • Lubricate rollers and pivot points.

What is the required lubrication recommendation for Dayton scissor lift carts?

  • Grease the surface under the lift table where rollers make contact.
  • Oil the link pins where the scissor arms connect to the frame & table and oil the center pivot.
  • Oil the pedal fitting and the cylinder connection points.
