The shaft helps to carry the fluid through the rotary union into the drum or roll. These units may be stationary or rotate with the drum or roll.
Various heat transfer media and fluid power media, such as steam, water, thermal oil, hydraulic fluid and coolants are used with both rotary joints and rotating unions.
The bellow seals are the mechanical seals that replace the spring element by bellows. It eliminates the need for O-rings and protects the bearings from infiltration of dirt.
