Hex and torx key sets are used for driving bolts and screws with a hexagonal or six-pointed, star-like sockets. These key sets fit into the head of an in-hex bolt instead of fitting around it, enabling them to fit into compact areas with minimum workpiece clearance. They provide a more secure grip on the fastener head for better torque transfer (as compared to Phillips or slotted head fasteners) and prevent slipping & damaging of the screwhead or adjacent surfaces. Selected models come with chrome plated & black phosphate finish for minimum light reflection and maximum wear resistance.
