Appleton Electric offers an extensive catalogue of receptacles designed to connect an electrical device to a power supply. These receptacles feature lockout provision to provide equipment with a total lockout / tagout system for preventing accidental machine startups. They meet NEMA 3, 3R, 4 and 4X requirements with plug fully inserted or cover closed with wing nuts fully tightened. These receptacles are equipped with an interlocked circuit breaker to offer short circuit and thermal time delay overload protection and neoprene bushing to prevent the entry of water. They have brass contacts which exert constant pressure across the entire contact surface and provide superior electrical contact. BReceptacles and plugs designed specifically for hazardous environments provide protection from dust, vapours and flammable gases. The compact design and rugged construction of these units make them a well suited option for in-line connections and also provide outstanding resistance to mechanical abuse and corrosive chemicals. Raptor Supplies offers a wide range of these electrical devices from brands like Appleton Electric, Killark, Hubbell Wiring Device-Kellems and Air Systems International. Appleton Electric hazardous location receptacles provide quick-connect or disconnect operation at current supplies of 30, 60 and 100 amps with a maximum voltage rating of 600 VAC. These units mate with a compatible plug which automatically interlocks and can be plugged out from the receptacle by turning the breaker handle in ON / OFF position. They further come equipped with an interlocked circuit breaker that offers thermal time delay protection. Killark pin and sleeve plugs feature copper-free aluminium construction for durability and brass contacts with patented beryllium copper spring tensioner for exerting constant pressure. These octagonal style plugs ensure a firm grip when connected / disconnected from the receptacles and comprise insulators with high mechanical and dielectric strength providing a smooth electrical path.
