BHayward BFA Series bulkhead fittings are designed for creating a secure and watertight connection through walls, tanks or other barriers. These fittings are ideal for industrial and commercial applications where fluid transfer or pipe installations is required while maintaining a leak-free seal. They can withstand pressures up to 150 psi and have a hexagonal long-pattern design to accommodate the increased wall thickness. These fittings feature left-hand threads for easy installation and FPM (fluorocarbon) or EPDM (ethylene propylene diene monomer) gasket seals for a leak-free connection. They are available in CPVC, polypropylene and PVC variants.

Firstly, it should be hand tight and turned quarterly for snugging up the retaining nut. Over-tightening the bulkhead can also damage either the tank or bulkhead.
Measure the outer diameter of the PVC pipe that will go into the bulkhead and take the bulkhead off to measure the hole in the glass. Once you measure the OD of the pipe, you will require a reference pipe chart for determining the nominal pipe size.
