Dayton belt drive motors turn a pulley or belt to power HVAC equipment such as belt-drive fans, air coolers, roof ventilators and air circulators. These motors feature frames made of steel / rolled steel for structural rigidity and are integrated with ball / sleeve bearings for low rotational friction. They also have a capacitor that provides additional power during startup to deliver high starting torque while running at a maximum speed of 1725 rpm. These motors offer nominal efficiency up to 66% and are available in split-phase & capacitor-start variants.

Belt drive motors are used for driving a belt on a pulley in HVAC fans, blowers, air circulators and roof ventilators. Century belt drive motors with 1/2 inch shaft diameter are designed to optimise the power and life of a system. With steel / rolled steel framing, these motors feature ball & sleeve bearings to provide low motor friction and high load capacity. With a maximum nominal efficiency of 64%, they are capable of being operated up to an ambient temperature of 40 degrees C. Dayton belt drive motors are designed with flat motor shafts & open drip proof enclosures to prevent heat build-up inside the motor. These motors feature a capacitor start and split phase design to provide high starting torque. They deliver speed up to 1725 rpm and can be operated up to 60 degrees F.
