Air Velocity Meters And Anemometers

Air velocity meters are designed for measuring the speed of wind or air along with other parameters like temperature, pressure and humidity; ideal for use in HVAC systems, construction sites and power generation facilities. Some models feature an additional data logging or data recording functionality to archive the measured data over a period of time. Raptor Supplies offers a wide range of these air velocity meters from brands like Westward, Reed Instruments, UEI Test Instruments, TSI Alnor, Kestrel, Extech, Dwyer Instruments and General. Extech anemometers are used for calculating the air volume in CMM / CFM metrics with accuracies ranging up to +/-3%. These airflow meters feature a large, back-lit LCD screen with primary and secondary displays and other status indicators for toggling between the air temperature and air volume readings. The AN500 model comes equipped with an automatic temperature compensation (ATC) facility for accurate in-duct air velocity measurements with changing air temperatures. These units also have a telescopic probe with a rural label assuring measurements being made in the centre of the duct even when out of reach. They are further integrated with an anti-rotational sensor ensuring that the airflow and probe direction are aligned in the same way for undisrupted and improved accuracy. Reed Instruments vane anemometers come in a compact design with easy operating features measuring the airflow velocity and displaying the units in fpm, m/s, kph, mph and knots. These units come with a low-battery indicator and auto shut-off features for maximum energy saving and un-interrupted operation. They are suitable for applications like refrigeration servicing or filter blockage detection.

Frequently Asked Questions

How are anemometers calibrated?

The anemometers are calibrated by creating a wind tunnel of continuous, pre-established air temperature and atmospheric pressure. The wind speed measurements at potential meteorological masts and the potential wind farms are made based on this calibration.

What is the difference between a wind vane and an anemometer?

Wind vane measures only the wind direction, while the anemometer measures both wind direction and speed.

What is an air velocity meter?

Air velocity meter (also known as air speed meter) measures wind speed and / or volume.
